Ms. Scroogeworth is the debut production of Memphis Black Broadway, a soulful, reimagined Christmas musical full of heart, humor, and holiday spirit. This original production blends classic themes with fresh perspectives, offering a powerful celebration of transformation, community, and joy.
Ms. Scroogeworth is a reimagined, gender-flipped musical adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. Set in present-day Memphis, the story follows Ebony Scroogeworth, a sharp, successful businesswoman who has buried her joy in ambition and isolation. When visited by the Timeweavers of her Past, Present, and Future, she must confront her choices and rediscover the true meaning of the holiday season.
Told through soulful music, humor, and heartfelt storytelling, this original musical celebrates community, compassion, and second chances—delivering a powerful message that resonates across generations.
